KUALA LUMPUR: A man was killed after a lorry carrying steel rods subsided and landed on a four wheel drive vehicle at Persiaran Lumba Kuda in Sungai Besi, here tonight.
The 8.30pm incident, happened at a corner there, also saw the Mitsubishi Triton's driver severely injured.
A police officer said the car driver, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, was trapped in his seat before a team of firemen managed to save him.
It was learnt that he rescue work took over two hours, as the vehicle was crushed under the lorry's body and a pile of steel rods.
The injured victim was rushed to the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Hospital at about 11pm.
Meanwhile, a man, who identified himself to police as the owner of the company which owns the Mitsubishi Triton, claimed that the deceased had just arrived from Sabah for a job interview with the company.
At press time about 11.30pm, rescuers and workers were still working to extract the victim's body.
