Cops nab man who killed plantation supervisor in front of son

KOTA KINABALU: Police have detained a man in his 40’s in connection with the killing of an oil palm plantation supervisor and a RM31,000 payroll grab at a plantation in the east coast Beluran district.
Beluran police chief Deputy Supt Sivananthan Velautham said on Sunday that the man was nabbed by a police team investigating the fatal shooting and robbery that occurred at about 5pm on Jan 29.
Foreman Edoh Sultan, aged 37, died after he was shot from behind by two masked men while driving a tractor back to the plantation from a oil palm collection centre where he had received the money to be paid to the workers there.
Edoh was killed on the spot while his seven-year-old son who was beside him was injured in the hand by fragments from the shotgun pallets that hit his father.
After grabbing the money, the robbers let the boy and fled the scene.
The boy ran about 5km to a fuel depot to get help. He was later sent to the Tawau hospital for treatment.
