Boyfriend Of Murdered Girl's Mum Charged With Child Abuse, Negligence

Sofian Hadie Mohd Nor, 35, covers his face from photographers present at the Dungun Magistrates./NSTDUNGUN: The boyfriend of the mother to the two-year-old girl who was found murdered in an empty house in Paka here last month was charged with child abuse and criminal negligence at the Magistrates Court here this afternoon.
Sofian Hadie Mohd Nor, 35, was charged under Section 31 (1) (a) of the Child Act 2001 with abusing and negligence on Nursyafiqah Adawiyah Abdullah that caused the child's death.
The unemployed man was also charged under Rule 25(1)(N) of the National Registration Rules 1990 for not having his identity card when he was arrested in front of the Dungun LKIM office on Jan 22.
Sofian pleaded not guilty to both charges.
Later at the same court, the victim's mother Rabiatul Adawiyah Mamat, 28, pleaded not guilty to a charge of making a false police report about her missing child under Section 192 of the Penal Code.
Magistrate Hazwanie Husain Bustari set bail for Rabiatul Adawiyah at RM6,000 with one surety.
