PUTRAJAYA: Newly appointed Immigration director-general Datuk Aloyah Mamat has pledged to continue with the strategies laid out for the department by her predecessor.
Aloyah takes over the post today.
"The programme that had been made will proceed.
"I will look at the plans that are in line with the Home Ministry's transformation plan," Aloyah said at ceremony to hand over duties from outgoing director-general Datuk Seri Alias Ahmad yesterday.
Aloyah, 57, who holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree from Universiti Sains Malaysia, joined the civil service as an administrative and diplomatic service officer in 1989.
Alias, who has been appointed as the secretary-general of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry, said he had faith in his successor's ability to take the department to greater heights.
