MODEL and actress Sandra Lim lived up to the predictions after being crowned Miss Universe Malaysia 2024 which took place in Kuala Lumpur last Friday.
The Bachelor of Communication graduate edged out 15 other finalists to claim the crown of victory.
Besides Sandra who was crowned champion, the runner-up and third place winner of Miss Universe Malaysia 2024 fell to Gianna Tan and Temara Inigo.
"Everything went so fast. I, Sandra Lim, am the new Miss Universe Malaysia 2024. "It's hard to describe how I feel right now, but I'm grateful. I decided to participate in Miss Universe Malaysia with all my heart and soul, surrendering to God completely.
"I hope my perseverance and determination to create change can inspire you to fight for your dreams.
"This is also a big achievement for me, where I compete as myself and with myself. I have learned a lot about endurance, friendship, and commitment throughout this process," he wrote through a special post on Instagram.
Besides Sandra who was crowned champion, the runner-up and third place winner of Miss Universe Malaysia 2024 fell to Gianna Tan and Temara Inigo.
In the meantime, Sandra also expressed her appreciation for the previous champions who inspired her.
"To all the amazing queens and women who have gone before me, thank you for inspiring me in so many ways.
"Sandra didn't expect to get this kind of support from the very beginning. Sandra is moved, continue to support our journey with @missuniversemalaysia towards the international competition!" he added.
The victory of the 23-year-old beautiful girl saw Sandra once again represent the country at the international level for the 73rd Miss Universe held in Mexico in November.
Previously, she had made Malaysia famous after winning the runner-up title at Miss Global 2022 in Indonesia.
A little info about Sandra, her full name is Sandra Lim Shue Hui. Now a model, actress and host, she is a graduate of Bachelor of Mass Communication from City University and was the recipient of the student excellence award at the graduation ceremony.
Looking back, the last time a representative of Malaysia was successful as a semi-finalist on the Miss Universe stage was in 1970 through the representation of Josephine Lena Wong.
