KUALA LUMPUR: Police confirmed that a hotel in Jalan Conlay here received a bomb threat call on Saturday.

Kuala Lumpur Police Chief, Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid said, a bomb disposal unit and the Bukit Aman Detection Dog (K9) unit were dispatched to the location immediately after receiving the information.

"The action of 'flushing' (safety cleaning) of the bomb was carried out meticulously in the lobby, hall, also in three parking areas, all 13 floors of the premises and outside the hotel.




"However, no threat was detected in this case," he said in a press conference at the Brickfields District Headquarters here on Sunday.

He said the hotel's security guard claimed to have received a call from a man who spoke in English at 8.07pm.

"This case is being investigated under Section 507 of the Penal Code. The public is advised not to make any speculations, assumptions or opinions that may cause confusion, annoyance and public order.

"Public members who have any information about this case can contact the Kuala Lumpur Police Operations Room at 03-2146 0584 / 0585 or any nearby police station," he said.
