The NAME of the country's young fighter, Johan 'Jojo' Ghazali is increasingly on the lips of Malaysians after recording a proud performance in the international Muay Thai sports arena.

His talent is getting noticed especially after the success of defeating Edgar Tabares, who is the WBC International Muay Thai champion, in his Primetime US action debut, ONE Championship last Friday.

The 17-year-old fighter representing Gim Rentap Muaythai only needed 36 seconds to knock out his opponent in the first round.

Jojo, who started acting in ONE Championship last February, has never lost in any of his five fights.

The teenage fighter managed to achieve a six-figure contract in ONE Championship with his unbeaten record of 4-0 in the ONE Friday Fights series.

Despite his youth, Jojo is seen as a rising star in combat sports this year.

In fact, some have compared him to ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon.

In addition to his heroics in the fight against Tabares, even more impressive was his live interview session on the ring, which highlighted his high charisma despite his young age.

“My name, Johan, in Malay it means champion. I will forever be on a mission to prove and live by my name... I will... mark my words... I will be the youngest One Championship Champion ever. Insya-Allah.

" Thank you guys, thank you all the fans from Malaysia. Assalamualaikum Malaysia, what's up guys ?!," he said with a smile.

The recording of the interview session went viral on social media with many describing this youngster as having a bright future with a complete package of agility, talent, face, appearance and confidence on the court and in front of the camera.
