KLANG: Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu remains in office as President of Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) for a third term after being elected among the party's National Leadership Committee for the 2023/2026 session just now.
It also marks Mohamad's last term to lead the party, which has more than 200,000 members.
Meanwhile, the position of Deputy President which was previously vacant following the death of its incumbent, the late Datuk Seri Salahudin Ayub, is now held by Datuk Seri Mujahid Yusof.
The National Leadership Committee meeting also made a decision for three Vice President positions, each of which is now filled by Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefli Ahmad; Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud; and Adly Zahari.
Previously, the three positions of Vice President were held by Datuk Mahfuz Omar, Mujahid and Datuk Hasanuddin Mohd Yunus.
According to the Amanah Party's constitution, the top five positions including the President are determined by consensus by the 27 top leaders elected by the delegates, and a person can only be president for three consecutive terms.
