NEW DELHI: Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will be in Malaysia for a two-day visit to further enhance bilateral defense ties.
Singh will meet Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as well as hold talks with Defense Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan during his visit which began on Monday, according to a statement from the Indian Ministry of Defense on Saturday.
The discussion with the Malaysian counterpart was aimed at "reassessing defense cooperation between the two countries and exploring new initiatives" to further strengthen ties.
The two leaders will also exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.
"India and Malaysia are concerned about peace and prosperity in the entire region.
"The two democracies have a strong and diverse relationship that has grown to cover a number of strategic areas, including defense and security," the statement said.
