The caretaker of the day care center was accused of abusing a boy

The accused was brought to the Johor Bahru Sessions Court on Tuesday.
JOHOR BAHRU: A custodian of a private childcare center was charged in the Johor Bahru Sessions Court here on Tuesday for abusing a three-year-old boy last week.
However, Ng Shu Tian, 24, pleaded not guilty after the charges were read before Sessions Court Judge Datuk Ahmad Kamal Arifin Ismail.
According to the charges, the accused is accused of abusing a three-year-old boy under her care in a manner likely to cause physical injury to the victim.
The accused is accused of committing the act at a private childcare center in Taman Molek here at 4pm on May 22.
The accused was charged in accordance with Section 31(1)(a) of the Children Act 2001.
The prosecution was handled by Deputy Public Prosecutor Umar Faiz Abdul Kohar, while the accused was represented by lawyers Chuah Shyue Chien and Ooi Hong Ming.
The court allowed the accused to be bailed at RM10,000 with one surety in addition to having to hand over his international passport to the court and report to Bukit Gambir Police Station, Muar every month.
The court then set June 27 as the date for the case to be mentioned again and documents to be handed over.
