Tina Turner has died at the age of 83
Singer and evergreen entertainer Tina Turner has reportedly died at the age of 83.
Turner, who had been suffering from a long illness, died on Tuesday at his home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland.
Turner who is popular with the hits 'What's Love Got To Do With It' and 'The Best' has been a Swiss citizen for the past decade.
Turner was born Anna Mae Bullock in Tennessee, United States (US) and spent her last years on a 260,000 square foot estate in Lake Zurich.
Turner achieved stardom in her 40s when she remained in the top concert charts at the time.
During her lifetime, Turner managed to sell 150 million albums worldwide, won 12 Grammy awards and was honored at the Kennedy Center in 2005.
The singer once caused controversy by revealing the story of her marriage with ex-husband Ike Turner due to physical and mental abuse that resulted in bankruptcy.
Turner however managed to get back up and achieve success despite her advanced age.
Turner suffered from ailments such as bronchitis, pneumonia and pneumothorax.
Meanwhile, the White House is mourning the loss of superstar singer Tina Turner.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said it was a great departure for the community that loved her and for the music industry.
Jean-Pierre who claims to be one of Turner's fans said that Turner's songs will live on and be remembered by his fans.
