PKR leaders are appointed to lead three government agencies

SHAH ALAM: Subang Member of Parliament, Wong Chen has been appointed as the non-executive chairman of Malaysia Debt Ventures (MDV).
MDV in a statement informed that the appointment of the PKR Member of Parliament took effect yesterday (May 23).
"Given Wong Chen's extensive experience and expertise, MDV is confident that under his leadership, MDV will continue to advance Malaysian technology companies and new companies for the benefit of the country," he said in a statement on Wednesday.
It is understood that Wong Chen replaces Khairul Azwan Harun, whose term of service ends on 31 December 2022.
MDV is a subsidiary of the Minister of Finance (Incorporated) [MOF (Inc)] and an agency under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.
Established in 2002, the company provides flexible and innovative financing facilities to develop the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector which has been identified and prioritized by the government as a catalyst for national growth.
Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for Bayan Baru, Sim Tze Tzin was appointed as chairman of the Technology Depository Agency (TDA), an agency under the Ministry of Finance.
"The appointment of the PKR Member of Parliament takes effect on May 15.
"Hopefully this inauguration can provide aspirations for TDA in spurring technological and industrial development towards state objectives and targets in line with the mandate of the established Acquisition Fundamentals," he said.
The TDA was established to manage, administer and monitor all implementation of Industry Collaboration Program (ICP) activities in Malaysia to ensure that it complies with the processes and requirements as set out in the Malaysian ICP Management Framework.
Meanwhile, former Member of Parliament for Kapar, Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid from PKR was appointed to lead Tekun Nasional.
Tekun Nasional is an agency tasked with providing financing facilities to Bumiputera businesses under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives.
