The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi arrived for a four-day special visit to Malaysia
Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was greeted by Tengku Mahkota Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah upon His Majesty's arrival at the KLIA Royal Complex. -
SEPANG: The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi who is also the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived here tonight to begin a four-day special visit to Malaysia until May 24.
His Majesty's arrival at Bunga Raya Complex, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) here at 8.42pm was greeted by the Regent of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.
Also present were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof and Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir.
Sheikh Khaled was then accompanied by Tengku Hassanal through the Local Guard of Honor by the Malaysian Armed Forces Unit I of the Royal Ranger Regiment led by Captain Muhammad Shafiq Najmi Mazlan.
This is His Majesty's maiden visit to Malaysia since he was installed as the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and appointed as Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council on March 29.
His Majesty's special visit is expected to further strengthen the long-standing good relationship between Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) which has been upgraded to a Strategic Partnership on 27 Sept 2022.
Sheikh Khaled is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim tomorrow and exchange views on various issues of mutual interest including bilateral, regional and international relations during the meeting.
On Tuesday, His Majesty will meet the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at Istana Negara.
The UAE is Malaysia's second largest trading partner, second largest export destination and second largest import destination from the West Asian region.
In 2022, Malaysia's total trade with the UAE will increase by 73.5 percent to RM38.73 billion compared to RM22.33 billion for the previous year.
