THE CROWN PRINCE OF ABU DHABI WILL MAKE A SPECIAL VISIT TO MALAYSIA

PUTRAJAYA, 20 May (Bernama) -- The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi who is also the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will make a special visit to Malaysia from tomorrow (Sunday) until 24 May.
This is His Majesty's maiden visit to Malaysia since his appointment as Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council on March 29.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Wisma Putra), Sheikh Khaled will pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Monday (May 22).
"The two leaders are expected to exchange views on various issues of mutual interest including bilateral, regional and international relations," according to the statement.
Sheikh Khaled will also meet the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at the Istana Negara on Tuesday (May 23).
"The special visit will further strengthen the good relations that have been established for a long time with the UAE which has been upgraded to Strategic Partnership on 27 Sept 2022," according to the statement.
The UAE is Malaysia's second largest trading partner, second largest export destination and second largest source of imports from West Asia.
In 2022, Malaysia's trade volume with the UAE increased by 73.5 percent to RM38.73 billion (US$8.79 billion) from RM22.33 billion (US$5.39 billion) in the previous year.
