Touch ‘n Go eWallet down, say netizens on social media

PETALING JAYA: Touch ‘n Go eWallet users are experiencing difficulties accessing their accounts as reports of login failures flood social media platforms.

Numerous netizens took to Twitter to express their frustration, stating that they were unable to log in to the Touch ‘n Go eWallet.

Complaints started pouring in around 10:30am, and the issue has quickly become a trending topic on social media.

The outage also appears to be affecting highway users.

The RFID lanes at Penchala Link and Kerinchi Link were reportedly closed and while others remain open, long queues at said RFID lanes have been reported.

Meanwhile, Touch ‘n Go has acknowledged the problem and assured users that they can still make payments for tolls and parking using PayDirect and RFID if their eWallet balance is sufficient.

The company apologised for the inconvenience caused.

The company initially issued a notice earlier today at 11:20am on Facebook, notifying its users of a technical problem that has been affecting its eWallet services. Despite this, TnG assured that users are still able to utilise the PayDirect and RFID features to pay tolls and parking. However, this is only possible if you have enough in your eWallet, as the outage has disabled the ability to top-up your balance.

Just as we mentioned earlier, it now seems that you can access the app again, though users have reported encountering a heavy traffic notice when attempting to log in or use its services. Some also mentioned experiencing TnG eWallet automatically logging them out without warning, or even constantly crashing.

Additionally, the numerous complaints on social media are pointing out that several services are still inaccessible, including the ability to top up eWallet balance and TnG cards via NFC, as well as conducting payments and transfers. At the time of writing, all of these technical issues are still unresolved and the company has yet to release a follow up statement.

Meanwhile, Touch ‘n Go also informed users via a separate notice earlier today that RFID lanes at the SPRINT Expressway will be temporarily unavailable until further notice. According to the company, this is caused by a network disruption at Pantai and Bukit Kiara toll plazas. Based on the statement, it is very likely that this particular issue is unrelated to the technical problems that’s currently affecting TnG’s eWallet service. Nevertheless, the company is advising users to check the official Facebook page of Litrak Group (SPRINT Expressway’s operator) for any further updates regarding the situation.
