Mauricio Pochettino has tested positive for Covid-19, forcing the Argentine to miss Paris Saint- Germain's clash with Angers on Saturday less than two weeks after being appointed.

The Ligue 1 club confirmed the former Spurs boss will move into self-isolation, with assistants Jesus Perez and Miguel D'Agostino set to take over for the away trip this weekend.

Pochettino has managed three games for the Parisian giants so far, already lifting silverware in his third match after a 2-1 victory over bitter rivals Marseille in the French Super Cup.

The title was the 48-year-old's first as a manager and he joyously celebrated on the pitch and in the dressing room with his players, just two days before the positive test emerged.

Colin Dagba, Thilo Kehrer and Rafinha are already ruled-out of the Angers clash with Covid-19 but more stars could join their coach in isolation if the virus is found to have spread in Lens on Wednesday.

Kylian Mbappe, Mauro Icardi and Co were all involved in the celebrations, with Neymar celebrating his 85th minute penalty by running over and greeting his new manager.

The Parisians have yet to announce any further positive tests after releasing a statement confirming Pochettino's.

'The coach of PSG Mauricio Pochettino is confirmed positive in the Sars-Cov2 PCR test,' the club said.

'He will therefore respect isolation and is subject to the appropriate health protocol.

'His assistants Jesus Perez and Miguel D'Agostino will take over from tomorrow in Angers.'

Pochettino revealed he is working for his side to be 'consistent' in his pre-match press conference, a target made more difficult in his absence.

'We'll have to be ready on Saturday, because it's a very difficult game against Angers that's ahead of us,' he added.

A strong first half of the season has Angers up in seventh, but a 6-1 victory over Saturday's opponents back in October under Thomas Tuchel should give PSG plenty of confidence.
