JOHOR BAHRU, Jan 23 -- The Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, today inspected the renovation works at Masjid Jamek Bandar Mersing, near Mersing.
Sultan Ibrahim, who was accompanied by Mersing District Officer Mohd Radzi Mohd Amin and Kadi Khairudin Salimin, spent almost half an hour inspecting the progress of the renovation works.
In a statement uploaded on Sultan Ibrahim’s official Facebook page, Mohd Radzi said the renovation works were expected to be completed before March.
According to the statement, Masjid Jamek Bandar Mersing was built in 1956 with a South African architectural design concept and can accommodate almost 600 worshippers.
