KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 3,739 out of 190,429 foreign workers who underwent compulsory screening tests have been confirmed positive for COVID-19 in the country.
According to Senior Minister (Defence Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, all of them were screened in Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Penang, Sabah, Kuala Lumpur and Labuan.
"Yesterday (Thursday), the Ministry of Human Resources (KSM) informed that a total of 5,819 foreign workers have undergone the COVID-19 screening test and of that number, 84 people were confirmed positive.
"Cumulatively, 190,429 foreign workers have undergone the COVID-19 screening test involving 7,198 employers. Of this total, 3,739 have been confirmed positive for COVID-19 while another 186,690 are negative," he said in a media statement on Friday.
Ismail Sabri added, so far 852 clinics have been involved in the screening program.
