Senior citizen rams car into patrolmen at Parit police Hq

PARIT, Nov 4 -- Two policemen suffered minor injuries when the motorcycles they were riding on were hit by a speeding car driven by a senior citizen in an incident at the Perak Tengah district police headquarters compound here today.
District police chief DSP Nik Rosdi Nik Yahya said the 64-year-old man was earlier involved in a crash, after which policemen escorted him back to the police headquarters.
Upon arriving, the man was told to stop his car at the guard post, but he reversed it instead and crashed into a police patrol car behind.
He then sped forward and rammed into two patrolmen on their motorcycles, dragging one of the machines for almost 100 metres before the car came to a halt, Nik Rosdi said.
Both policemen suffered minor injuries while the car driver was unhurt in the incident.
Nik Rosdi said the man was taken to hospital for a blood test, adding that police were investigating the case under section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder and also for reckless driving.
