Ex-Sabah minister allegedly threatens Uber driver with gun

KOTA KINABALU: A former Sabah minister during the Berjaya era is said to have threatened an Uber driver with words and a gun after allegedly banging into the driver's car from behind.

The former minister was said to have tried driving off following the 'accident', but the Uber driver identified as Chin Wong Seng, 65, did not allow him to.

Chin told a press conference at the DAP office near here on Sunday (Nov 19) that he had gotten out of his car and tapped on the man's car to settle the matter which occurred on Thursday evening.

"He said to me 'do you want to die, I shoot you' while pointing the gun at me when I asked for his phone number," he said.

Chin said he then told the man to just shoot him if he wanted to as he was already old anyway.

It was then the suspect put away his gun and told Chin to go to his office in Tangjung Aru not far from the city to settle the matter.

"I hope police will investigate this incident," Chin said, adding he lodged a report on Friday at the Karamunsing police station.
