Video of Man Jumping Down From Shopping Mall, Allegedly After Angry Girlfriend Asked Him To “Go Die”? happened in China not Malaysia

A video of a man jumping down from the highest floor at a shopping mall in Petaling Jaya
went viral today, allegedly after his girlfriend, who are angry that he did not purchase tickets
for a movie, asked him to “go die”.
However, while the shopping mall does bear some similarity with the popular shopping
mall in Petaling Jaya, it does seem like marketing posters in Chinese is a major
giveaway that the incident happened outside of Malaysia.
Netizens were quick to point out that the actual incident happened in Guangzhou,
China – and was caused by an argument with cinema staff, after the man failed to
exchange cinema tickets. The man allegedly tried to scare cinema staff after they
asked him to “go die”, and accidentally slipped – causing his death.
Another video, allegedly showing Malaysian policemen hauling a dead body out of
a building, are presumed to be from another unrelated case.
