KUALA LUMPUR: Umno Youth has lodged a police report against former Bank Negara governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz, outgoing Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamed and former attorney-general Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail.

Umno Youth vice-chief Khairul Azwan Harun (pic) filed the report at the Dang Wangi police station on Tuesday afternoon, claiming the three were believed to be involved in a conspiracy to topple Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and the Malaysian government.

The report said they allegedly provided confidential information to foreign agencies including the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Khairul claimed that forged documents were submitted and information was manipulated to fulfil their agenda.

He urged the police to thoroughly investigate the matter.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Zainol Samah confirmed receiving the report.

"The case has been handed over to Bukit Aman for further investigations," he said when contacted.

KUALA LUMPUR: Former attorney-general Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail has described the allegations that he is involved in a conspiracy to topple Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and the Malaysian government as a publicity stunt.

"These frivolous allegations are publicity seeking stunts with no substance.

“Attempts at character assassination would only trigger a backlash and undermine the government in the long run," he told Bernama.

Abdul Gani reiterated that he had always acted professionally in the course of his work and would continue to work professionally in his future endeavours.

He said this via WhatsApp when asked to comment that Umno Youth vice-chief Khairul Azwan Harun had lodged a police report against him, former Bank Negara governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akthar Aziz and outgoing Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamed.

Khairul Azwan claimed that the three were believed to be involved in a conspiracy to topple Najib and the government.

On July 27, 2015, Abdul Gani's position as attorney-general was terminated due to health reasons.
