NEW STRAITS TIMES

KOTA BARU: Two police officers were arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for accepting a RM200 bribe.
The two, aged 25 and 29, were both sergeants attached to the district police headquarters.
They were arrested just before midnight on Friday.
A source said the duo, while on patrol duty, had stopped a man and asked him to produce his identity card.
When he failed to produce one, they threatened to take him to the police station.
“The victim, who was afraid, then tried to bribe the two policeman with money. The two took the RM200 and let him go," he said.
The source said the victim then went to the police station the next day to lodge a report over the incident.
"Based on the description given by the victim, the two were apprehended and taken to the Tanah Merah Court for remand yesterday," said the source.
The remand ends on Thursday.
Meanwhile, state MACC director Datuk Moh Samsudin Yusoff when contacted confirmed the case and arrests.
Investigations, he said, are still ongoing.
