Zahid Hamidi: Immigration system has been sabotaged

IPOH: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi believes that the Malaysian Immigration System (myIMMs) has been sabotaged.
Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Home Affairs Minister, said several names had been identified and would be announced by him and the police.
He commented on the note of caution given in the Auditor-General's Report 2015 Series 1 on May 18, which stated that the system, developed to support the main operations of the Immigration Department was unsatisfactory and its objectives not met.
According to the report, the myIMMs biometric facility worth RM10.3mil had been paid for and already supplied, but was not installed and used at the entrance gates to screen and identify foreigners as well as Malaysians.
Ahmad Zahid added that they would collaborate with the National Audit Department to conduct an internal audit, which would include performing a "management" and "forensic" audit.
"If the system is found to be faulty, action will be taken against the supplier, but if it is a case of 'human error' then a 'revisit' will be done on any operational approach involved," he said. - Bernam
