The Star Online is top news site in March

PETALING JAYA: The Star Online is the top news portal for the month of March, according the latest Malaysian Digital Association (MDA) and comScore Inc report.
The Star Online placed ninth overall from 20 local websites visited from desktop computers in Malaysia, with 917,000 unique visitors.
According to the report, The Star's website,www.thestar.com.my, ranked ahead of Malaysiakini, Sinar Harian and Harian Metro, which placed 12th, 17th and 18th respectively.
Maybank's online banking portal, maybank2u.com.my, remained in first place with over 3.5 million unique visitors, followed by cimbclicks.com and airasia.com in second and third.
Appearing for the last time on the list of top visited news portals was The Malaysian Insider, which ceased operations on March 14.
It managed to garner 286,000 unique visitors in the last two weeks of its publication.
Rhb.com.my and digi.com.my were new entries to the top 20 rankings compared to February 2016.
Google sites, Facebook and Yahoo sites dominated the web properties category for March.
Newcomers to the web properties list were Astro Group and alibaba.com Corporation.
Released monthly, the MDA and comScore Inc report measures web activity among Malaysian Internet users.
