In what must be the first collaboration of it's kind between Philippines- Malaysian and Indonesia, in true ASEAN spirit Kris Patt from Philippines launched her Malay single "Berhenti Menantimu" yesterday evening at a major hotel in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

The song was specially written for her by Tam Spider while the lyrics were written by popular Indonesian singer Yuka Kharisma.

During the launching of her Single at One World Hotel, Kris totally blew away the Malaysian media as she gave a live performance of the song. The song started with the music video of the single and half way through the screens opened up and out came the new Filipina diva in town. Her live performance was simple spell bounding. You could really feel the song watching her perform.
She performed a few other songs for the media to show her versatility. When performing the song flashdance she showed that not only she could sing but she could dance too!.
Kris Patt was born Mary Cris Pateno Faustino 27 years ago. She has been singing since 7 years old. The oldest among 3 sibling, she only finished high school as she had to make ends meet to help her mother take care of her family by pursuing a career in singing.
That is when she set foot in Malaysia singing in many Five star and Four Star hotel lounges around the country. During her time in Malaysia she sang many Malay songs during her performances. She always dreamt of making a Malay album and this is when her dream came true when officials Melody United discovered her during one of her perfomance's at a major hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
Melodi United offered Kris a contract to make her first single and to make it even more special they got Malaysia's Tam Spider to compose it. The lyrics were penned by Indonesian singer Yuka Kharisma who got married recently.
Kris Patt says she is confident Malay music lovers will accept her based on strength of her vocals and the song despite being from the Philippines. I wanted to record my first single in Malay as I wanted to be different. I understand Malay a little and I do speak a little Malay. This helped me feel the song and the lyrics while performing it. Tam Spider helped me a lot during the recording of the song.
She is looking forward to the support and love from Malaysian and Indonesia music lovers, as she is confident they will be able to relate to the song. She intends to work hard to reach out to music lover through various promotion scheduled for her by Melodi United.
She is a big fan of Hazami and Dayang Nurfaizah and from yesterday's performances, BEST FB KL will not be surprised if she performs with them in the very near future
Overall it was a stunning entry into the Malay music scene by Kris Patt.
The Emcee for the show who is said to be a local Radio DJ was an absolute let down when he could not converse and translate questions in proper English. This made it even more uncomfortable for the nervous Kris Patt when answering some of the questions from the media, which were mostly posed in Malay.
BESTFBKL VERDICT: Kris Patt's popularity is going to grow by leaps and bounds with the proper marketing and promotion.
