14-Year-Old Malaysian Girl Achieved 12 Strikes In A Row For The Perfect Game
A 14-year-old girl has managed to achieve the highest 300 point score or what is more famously referred to as the ‘perfect game’ of tenpin bowling at the Sunway Mega Lanes at Sunway Pyramid last night.
In a video that was captured by a spectator, Nurdayini Iman Noor Azrin was filmed easily scoring her twelfth strike, after 11 strikes in a row to reach the maximum score of 300 in tenpin, during her routine training session.
It was the first of such feat made by the young teen, whose previous high scores were listed to be at around 220 points.
In an interview with Malaysian Digest, Selangor State tenpin bowling coach Sabarudin Mohamed Nor, revealed that the occurrence did come as a pleasant surprise.
“By the seventh strike, we realised that this game is capable of going further if we can maintain our current pace then.
“She started to get nervous but I assured her that she is more than capable of achieving it,” said Sabarudin, who has been training the young bowler for the past two years.
“Achieving a 300 score perfect tenpin bowling game is no easy feat even for the most experienced professionals, yet alone a child.
“You need confidence, consistency and finally, a tiny dose of luck to achieve the perfect game,” said the coach.
Sunway Mega Lanes supervisor, Normaslizawati also shared with Malaysian Digest that it was the first time they had witnessed such a score by a young person.
“We had grown adults scoring perfect games in rare occasions that are mostly during official tournaments.
“However, as far as I know, this is the first time a person as young as Nurdayini has scored a perfect 12 strikes in a row here in our bowling alley.”
Despite only recently starting her career in bowling, Nurdayini has previously participated in national junior and official level tournaments in the country.
There are plans to further groom her to become a national bowler one day, but in the meantime, Nurdayini will have to focus on her studies and prepare herself for the upcoming PT3 examinations.
Sabarudin believes that his young trainee is capable of achieving her dreams to compete for tenpin bowling at an international level.
“If she continues to work hard and perform as well as she has been doing now, there is no doubt that her dreams will be realised. I have faith in her to achieve that,” he expressed.
