PETALING JAYA, Sept 14 — Coalition of Malay NGOs chief Datuk Jamal Md Yunos yesterday denied allegations the rally on Wednesday, dubbed Himpunan Rakyat Bersatu, would pay participants RM100 each to attend.
He said the allegations did not make sense as the coalition did not have the financial resources to pay participants.
“We are expecting 300,000 participants a sum of RM30 million. Where will the money come from?” he asked.
Jamal said the coalition had raised some RM500,000 from donations and sale of red T-shirts in the last two weeks.
“The funds will be used to purchase food and drinks for participants, and the excess cash will be saved for other events,” he said.
City police yesterday denied that motorcyclists wearing red T-shirts had gathered around Jalan Chow Kit, Pavilion and other parts of Bukit Bintang.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Tajudin Md Isa warned the public stern action would be taken against anyone caught disseminating information with seditious elements and intentions to instil fear.
He said social media images showing hundreds of motorcyclists gathering in several areas were not real.
“Checks in the area did not show any red-shirted groups roaming the streets, and there were no road closures in the city, especially routes heading to Plaza Low Yat,” he said.
“Police will continue to ensure safety and peace in the city, and any information received must be verified from its source or the authorities.”

Is it from the rakyat or another donation. Or the youth Association must verify is this letter genuine. This will help clear up the speculation
