KUALA LUMPUR: A man in his 40s, suffered a loss of almost half a million ringgit, after his Mercedes Benz driven by his employee was destroyed when it suddenly caught fire on the Federal Highway here. 

Petaling Jaya Fire and Rescue chief, Affendi Ismail said the driver of the Mercedes Benz and his companion, however, escaped unhurt in the 10.50am incident Monday. 

Ten personnel from the Petaling Jaya and Subang Jaya fire stations rushed to the scene and managed to control and put out the fire within 10 minutes, he told Bernama. 

Mercedes Benz Malaysia said in a statement that it was investigating the incident.  - BERNAMA
