PETALING JAYA: A woman was instantly killed while two others were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on KM10.7 of the Elite Highway heading to Putrajaya from USJ.

Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Ramli said on Wednesday that the 24-year-old woman Nursyaidatul Adila Muhamat , who worked at a telecommunications centre in Shah Alam, was riding home when a Volvo rammed her motorcycle at about 11.15pm Tuesday.

“The 35-year-old driver was travelling on the middle lane when his Volvo was hit by a Honda travelling on the right lane.

“This caused the Volvo to veer out of control and crash into the motorcycle travelling on the emergency lane,” he explained.

ACP Yahaya said the motorcycle crashed into a divider on the left shoulder of the road before catching fire.

“The collision caused the victim to be flung into nearby bushes. She died on the spot.

“The Volvo driver and 26-year-old Honda driver were also injured in the accident,” he noted.

All three were sent to Hospital Putrajaya.

According to ACP Yahaya, initial investigations revealed that the road was in good condition when the accident occurred.

“The road was not slippery or sandy. The weather was good,” he said.

The case has been classified as reckless driving under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
