Video Of Couple Venting Their Frustration At Enforcement Officers Goes Viral
KUALA LUMPUR: A video of a couple berating enforcement officers for taking action against their small trading stall has garnered social media users' attention.
From the video shared by a Facebook user Mohd Fairuzi Shah Gee, the incident allegedly happened when local enforcement officers tried to confiscate the couple's goods.
"Just a couple trying to make a living as a small time trader in these challenging economic times. Why pick on them...they are your own people..
"How much profit can they make with this business..illegal gambling...massage parlours...drug syndicates...they are not doing anything about those...the system has broken down," Fairuzi wrote in his Facebook posting on August 29.
It is believed the couple got incensed after enforcement officers tried to clear them from trading illegally near a school.
Becoming visibly aggravated, the woman in the video was seen yelling at the enforcement officers, while her male partner, believed to be her husband hit out at the officers.
"Get away from here...," the woman screamed while one of the officers is heard giving orders to his men to confiscate the couple's trading goods.
Meanwhile, most social media users condemned the authorities' rough action in confiscating the couple's goods that caused most of their goods to fall all over the pavement.
"If they don't have a license, bring them the form for them to apply for a license. Help them to get a license instead of causing their goods to be damaged in this way.
"Giving a warning is enough...no need to confiscate their goods...," one FB reader commented.
Until now, the video has been viewed more than 1 million times.
