TELUK INTAN: Fourteen people are confirmed dead after a boat carrying illegal immigrants sank off Sabak Bernam.
Some 20 survivors have so far been rescued.
It is understood that there were at least 70 people on board the boat.
Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency search and rescue operations director Captain Robert Teh Geok Chuan said the bodies would be brought to the Teluk Intan Hospital mortuary here for a post mortem while the rescued migrants would be questioned at the Hutan Melintang police station.
Teh said the immigrants from Indonesia were trying to return to their country by boat from the Hutan Melintang jetty.
