GEORGE TOWN: A woman whose car ‘flew’ off an apartment’s car park in Taman Pekaka is now conscious and can respond to signals.
A nurse who has been attending to M. Latchumani in the intensive care unit in the Penang Hospital said she could now recognise people and respond to voices.
“She is slowly gaining movement of her right hand and her condition is improving,” the nurse who declined to be named, said yesterday when contacted.
M. Latchumani, 37, had on operation on Aug 16 for head and spine injuries sustained when she lost control of her Perodua MyVi and rammed the vehicle into a wall.
She crashed seven metres from the third floor of the car park to the ground at about 12.30pm on Aug 14.
Latchumani, who works at St Nicholas Home for the Blind, was leaving for her afternoon shift when the incident happened.
