KUALA LUMPUR: The organisers of the Bersih 4 rally have called on protesters to avoid using vuvuzelas to reduce noise levels in the city.
“We ask your kind consideration to lower the noise levels in Kuala Lumpur.
“We would appreciate stopping the use of vuvuzuelas,” said Bersih in a post on its Facebook page on Saturday.
The organisers also encouraged people to make “no vuvuzuela” signs to ensure people keep the volume levels down.
The sound of blaring vuvuzelas on the first day of the rally proved to be too much for some participants who made and displayed improvised “anti vuvuzuela” signs.
One man was even seen walking along the street on Saturday night holding up a “No vuvuzuelas” picture on his phone.
“At least I am doing this for a few hours. I do not know if this will help but at least this will remind them,” said C.S. Sai, 36.
“We are supposed to see five million stars not hear five million noises,” he joked.
