PETALING JAYA: The tenure of Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Hassan (pic) as Petronas' non-executive chairman has been extended for another three years.
In a press statement Thursday, Petronas said he would be continuing his tenure for another three years, beginning July 1, 2015.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak appointed the former Chief Secretary to the Petronas board of directors in 2012.
Prior to that, Mohd Sidek had spent 38 years in the civil service until his retirement as the 12th Chief Secretary to the Government.
He has expansive working experience within the International Trade and Industry Ministry as well as the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) of the Prime Minister's Department and has held numerous international posts.
He was also the International Islamic University Malaysia president from 2008 until 2013.
Mohd Sidek holds a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) degree in Public Administration from University Malaya and a Master's degree in Business Administration from New Hampshire College, United States.
