Four perish in Elite Highway crash
PETALING JAYA: A married couple were among four people killed when their Toyota Estima crashed into a tree on KM9.9 of the Elite Highway.
Selangor traffic police chief Deputy Supt Azmi Mansor said seven people were travelling on the Estima heading to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) when the accident occurred at about 5.40am, Sunday.
"Initial investigations revealed that the Estima heading to KLIA from Subang Jaya, skidded to the left side of the road before crashing into a tree.
"The driver and three other passengers died on the spot. Three other victims were seriously injured," he said.
DSP Azmi added that the victims were sent to Hospital Putrajaya.
The deceased were aged between 25 and 27.
The injured were between the ages of 20 and 35. All seven victims were from Banting, Selangor.
The case has been classified as reckless driving under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
