22 revellers arrested in raid at villa

KUALA LUMPUR: Twenty-two revellers, aged between 16 and 39, were arrested for drugs when police raided a private villa they were partying at.
The raiding party, comprising personnel from the Jalan Tun Razak police station, moved in at 8am Saturday at the premises located along Jalan Damai.
Wangsa Maju OCPD Supt Mohd Roy Suhaimi Sarif said the host, a 23-year-old woman from Kota Tinggi, Johor, was among those detained.
He said the woman, who had hosted other similar parties, would survey appropriate areas and locations for her events. A minimum “cover charge” of RM10 would be collected in stages once the location was determined.
Supt Roy added that the villa had been rented for a fee of RM1,720 for two days.
He said of the 35 attendees, 21 had tested positive for drugs while one was wanted by police for a drug-related offence.
One of the women, who tested negative, was reported missing by her brother last Thursday, he added.
No drugs were found on the premises.
Supt Roy said those arrested are expected to be charged under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
