46 CIVIL SERVANTS TO BE INVESTIGATED AFTER THE AUDITOR GENERALS REPORT

A-G’s Report: Forty-six civil servants to be investigated over wastages

KUALA LUMPUR: Forty-six civil servants will be investigated over wastages charted in the Auditor-General's 2013 report (third series).
The 46 were picked from a series of complaints known as "reprimands", determined from problems found within the civil service, and would be subject to disciplinary proceedings.
"Five of these reprimands involve some 46 officers who have been identified for disciplinary proceedings," said Chief Secretary Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa at the Auditor-General's report 2013 (third series) town hall session Wednesday.
These five punitive reprimands were part of a larger group of 20 where civil servants were deemed directly responsible over problems found in the report.

The 20 were also part of a larger total of 495 "reprimands", of which 475 were deemed as "corrective", applying to system weaknesses.
Ali said that these were being "improved" by their respective Ministries.
He said that under the 20 "punitive reprimands", two were being investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
The remaining 13 were being investigated by other Federal agencies.
