28 Nov – "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" is no doubt the longest running film in the history of Indian cinema and it celebrates its approaching 1000 weeks of screening with the launch of a brand new trailer, The Times of India reports.
Directed by Aditya Chopra, the film was released on 20 October 1995 and as of 2014, is still playing at Mumbai's Maratha Mandir theatre.
The movie will reach its 1000 weeks mark on 12 December 2014 and a slew of activities have been planned for it, starting with the release of the aforementioned trailer.
Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol star in "Dilwale" as Raj Malhotra and Simran Singh, who both live in London but are raised in vastly contrasting backgrounds. Raj's upbringing is more liberal, while Simran's is conservative. However, as fate would have it, the two meet during a train journey and without realising it, start falling for each other.
The two stars, who last worked together on 2010's "My Name Is Khan", will make an appearance along with the entire cast of "Dilwale" on the television show "Comedy Nights With Kapil" to celebrate the 1000 weeks occasion.
