First Cantenary Traffic Lights in Malaysia Installed in Seri Iskandar

SERI ISKANDAR: The first catenary traffic light in the country was officially launched at the junction to Felcra Nasaruddin, Bota near here today.


The system which uses cables instead of poles was launched by state Public Amenities, Infrastructure, Energy and Water Committee chairman Datuk Zainol Fadzi Paharudin.

Perak Public Works Department director Datuk Dr Safry Kamal Ahmad said the system which was installed by PPK Technology Sdn Bhd costs RM179,826.65, which is half than the cost of the conventional system.

He added that the new system is expected to be installed in Shah Alam, Selangor next.
The catenary traffic light uses cables instead of poles.
