Fast Five Died When Car 'Flew' Down Ravine

REMBAU: In a bid to emulate the 'Fast And Furious' Hollywood movie, five Indians were killed when the car they were travelling in lost control and flew 20 metres down a ravine at Kilometre 240.6 of the PLUS highway near Pedas/Linggi Toll Plaza at 4.30 pm.
D Ponneri, 23; S Annand Meenakshi, 23; V Ragunathan, 28 and S Karupannan, 29, died at the crash for serious injuries to the head and body.
All four were taken to Tampin Hospital for post mortem.
However, their friend Vijay Khatik who also suffered serious injuries, died at the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital Seremban (HTJS) around 7 pm.
According to police sources, all five victims from Chennai (India), were vacationing in Singapore a few days ago before entering the country (Malaysia) in a Singapore registered car (Toyota Altis).
The source said, after sightseeing and shopping in Kuala Lumpur, they headed back to the republic.
"On the way back (to Singapore), the driver was believed to have sped the car at 160 kilometre-per-hour before they lost control at the location.
"The car 'flew' into the ravine just like the movie 'Fast And Furious'," he said.
