KUALA LUMPUR : Pas candidate, Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar won the Kemaman Parliamentary By-Election (PRK) after obtaining 64,998 votes, which is a majority of 37,220 votes on Saturday.

The decision was announced by Kemaman Parliamentary Elections Officer, Ahmad Farhan Abdul Wahab.

For the record, the Kemaman parliamentary seat was previously represented by BN through Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek for three terms, before changing hands to Che Alias in GE14.

In GE15, Che Alias managed to defend the Kemaman parliamentary seat by defeating the former Terengganu Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Ahmad Said by obtaining a majority of 27,179 votes.
