PUTRAJAYA: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has denied that he will resign as claimed by certain parties.
It is linked to Ahmad Zahid's health status.
"I myself did not know that I would do such a thing (resign)," he said at a press conference after officiating the launch ceremony of the Polytechnic Transformation Direction Plan 2023-2030 here on Monday.
According to him, the procedure he underwent recently was prostate surgery and not prostate cancer.
"All men have prostates either large or small.
"But don't make all sorts of speculations," he said.
He said this commenting on Raja Petra Raja Kamarudin's claim that Ahmad Zahid who is also the President of UMNO will resign due to health problems.
Ahmad Zahid said, he is back to health and back to work after completing the procedure.
"Alhamdulillah I am healthy because of everyone's prayers, including the people who prayed for me to do things I never thought of," he said.
Last Friday, Ahmad Zahid returned to duty by attending a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim after a period of rest after undergoing surgery recently.
He who is also the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, was seen present in the meeting room in a cheerful state when registering the National Digital Identity or Digital ID.
