 'Authentic Sabah' hologram label to be launched on May 20

SANDAKAN: Sabah's Ministry of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship (MIDE) will launch a hologram label to certify the authenticity of products made by entrepreneurs from the Land Below the Wind.

The state ministry's assistant minister, Datuk Andi Muhammad Suryady Bandy, said the label, containing the words 'Authentic Sabah', will be launched by its Minister, Phoong Jin Zhe in Kota Kinabalu on May 20.

"This hologram label will further increase the product quality of Sabah's Small and Medium-Sized (SME) enterprises, in addition to showing that there are many Sabah products in the market.

"Traders can further increase their sales, buyers can also differentiate which are the original products made by Sabah entrepreneurs.

"I feel that this is a good initiative seeing how there are so many products said to be made in Sabah by Sabahans when they are not," he told reporters after officiating an engagement session with SME entrepreneurs, here, today (May 5).

He said the hologram label will be distributed for free to all entrepreneurs registered with the Department of Industrial Development and Research (DIDR) of Sabah this month.

"So far, applications seem to be encouraging given that there are many Sabah SME products in the market," he said. – Bernama
