PUTRAJAYA: A total of 442 individuals were arrested for violating the standard operating procedures (SOP) of the Movement Control Order (MCO) nationwide, said Senior Minister (Defence Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Of that number, he said, a total of 430 individuals were compounded, 11 were remanded and one was bailed.

He said among the offences recorded were entertainment centre activities (144), failure to comply with physical distancing (88), failure to provide equipment to record customer details (80), not wearing face masks (71), premises operating overtime/without permission ( eight) and other offences (51).

On Op Benteng yesterday, Ismail Sabri said, 102 illegal immigrants (PATI) were detained while four land vehicles were seized nationwide.

"During the operation, the authorities also detected 114 boats or ships in the country's waters through eight sighting activities.

"Op Benteng involving PDRM, Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM), Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (Maritim Malaysia) and Malaysian Border Security Agency (AKSEM) as well as other security agencies also carried out 447 roadblocks (SJR) yesterday," he added.

As for Public Sanitation Operations, he said, 94 operations were carried out covering 32 red zones, orange zones (five), yellow zones (11) and green zones (three).

Cumulatively, Ismail Sabri said, a total of 18,123 sanitation operations covering 146 zones nationwide have been carried out since March 30, 2020.

In addition, he said, a total of 1,112 individuals arrived at all international entrances and all were quarantined at quarantine stations across the country.

“Since July 24, 2020, a total of 138,771 individuals have returned to the country and all of them are housed in 78 hotels and 11 public training institutes (ILA) as well as private institutes of learning throughout the country.

"A total of 7,539 individuals were quarantined and cumulatively, a total of 130,338 people were allowed to return while another 894 were taken to hospital," he added.
