Police have rescued a girl following the uploading of a now-viral video on social media of a woman threatening to stab her (VIDEO)

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have rescued a girl following the uploading of a now-viral video on social media of a woman threatening to stab her with a sharp object.

The one minute and 16 second video which has been shared on Facebook and WhatsApp shows a woman wearing a purple dress sitting on the floor while pointing a sharp object at the girl who is seen sitting down and leaning against a wall.


The woman speaks in Tamil and tells the girl that "you are not my child, I did not give birth to you"

She also tells the child that she was only taking care of the girl because of her father and can also be heard telling the child that she is a dead person to her while holding the sharp object and threatening to stab her with it.



The child is seen to be visibly shaken by the encounter and flinches every time the woman threatens to stab her.

The incident allegedly took place at the Sri Aman Flats in Jinjang on Saturday (Dec 7).

Shortly after the video went viral, another post made its way on social media showing the woman in handcuffs next to a police woman.

When contacted, Sentul OCPD Asst Comm S. Shanmugamoorthy confirmed that the girl has been rescued by police.

"We have arrested a female suspect in connection with the case and it is being investigated by the City Sexual, Women and Child Investigation Division," he said.
