BUTTERWORTH: A woman, who was filmed making out with a man in the women’s toilet of Wat Phothicarentham in Sungai Puyu, here, was detained by police today.

A urine test conducted on the 42-year-old suspect came back positive for drugs.

Seberang Prai Utara district police chief Assistant Commissioner Noorzainy Mohd Noor said the Buddhist temple’s chairman had lodged a police report after footage of the obscene video went viral.

He said the 59-second video showed the suspect making out with a man, who was believed to be in his 40s.

It has been widely circulated in the last few days through the WhatsApp social media platform.

“Checks on the closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, showed three men taking photographs around the temple.

“We suspect that they may have also recorded the obscene act.

“Efforts are underway to track down all the others still at large,” he said today.

Noorzainy said the case was being investigated under Section 294(a) of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Act 1988.

“We have obtained a remand order for the female suspect. Investigations are underway,” he added
