MIRI: A fire razed the third floor of the Limbang View Hotel - one of the oldest hotels in Limbang town in northern Sarawak on Friday (Dec 27).

The fire that started at about 10am damaged the corridor of the third floor as well as two guest rooms, said the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department.

The three-storey hotel has 20 rooms and occupies a section within a block of shoplots located right in the heart of the town centre.

Sarawak Bomba said in its latest update that the fire was contained within 30 minutes and there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is still being probed.

That hotel is at least 30 years old and is one of the earliest lodging facilities in Limbang, catering mainly to budget travellers.
