AN eight-year age gap is not a barrier for artiste Nita Hamzah (pic) to tie the knot with Mohd Fareez Syamsul Bahari in a modest but vibrant wedding ceremony on Sunday, reported Kosmo!.
The singer, who looked elegant in a Calvin Thoo wedding gown, accepted a dowry of RM300 and RM10,000 in wedding offerings from the groom, whom she had dated for four years.
Nita, 37, said she was won over by Mohd Fareez’s sheer determination in saving enough money to make their wedding a reality despite working as a despatch boy.
Calling her a very special lady in his life, Mohd Fareez, 29, said he felt lucky to be able to call Nita his wife.
He said Nita constantly reminded him to be more disciplined in all aspects of his life, including religion, lifestyle and finances.
“My life has become more stable ever since I met her. She may be older but as a husband, it will be my duty to guide her throughout our lives together,” Mohd Fareez said, adding that he would support her music career.
