Robbers nabbed after Banting chase

PETALING JAYA: Four men believed to be robbers were arrested following a high-speed chase in Banting.
A police mobile patrol unit came across the suspects, who were in a car, at about 8.15am yesterday.
As they were behaving suspiciously, the policemen ordered them to pull over but the suspects fled the scene towards Jalan Bunga Pekan in Banting.
The police patrol gave chase and soon other patrol units assisted in the pursuit.h=533&&w=400&la=en

“Their car eventually rammed into a wall of a shophouse and we managed to corner them.
“They tried to run but we managed to detain them. In the process, one of the suspects acted aggressively, forcing one of the policemen to shoot him,” he said.
He added that the suspect was hit on the right shoulder and leg and had been sent to Banting Hospital for treatment.
“Initial investigations revealed that the suspects have records for multiple offences, including drug-related ones.
“We also seized tools used for house break-ins as well as drug paraphernalia,” he said.
The suspects, aged between 20 and 30, will be remanded for further investigation.
